Dancing
and Mischief-Consequence of Boris’ causing drama at Frank’s Jazz Club
Boris is interested in making revenue through a
venture within SL
He has come up with a few alternatives…
Few possible alternatives…• Virtual Pets
– To follow in steps of• New Consumer Trends• Webkinz• Nano, Tamagotchi, or Gigapet
– These pets would accompany avatars, as well as have their own animation
• Accessory Products
Few possible alternatives…• Star Trek replicator
– As in Star Trek series, the replicator will provide any item requested; an e-procurement service linking buyers and seller within SL
– Replicator would be a free application to own and insert into owned areas
– Would make money from transactions
↻
But for now the less intensive programming option will be chosen…
“Company Conferencing and Training Facilities”
• Opportunity– Holding “SL meetings" with prospects,
customers, clients, and fellow workers makes a difference to a company's bottom line
• Sizably decrease travel expenses– Rising fuel costs– High price for hotels
• Staff spend more productive time in the office and do not lose valuable hours traveling
Conference/Training Facilities
• Opportunity– Shows company is thinking "outside the
box" and devising new ways to work in the 21st Century
Conference/Training Facilities
Conference/Training Facilities
• Would be a follower• But would…
– Mix the best of what is offered in other facilities
– Improve on what is currently done
Included in the Facilities would be…
Large Meeting Areas
Presentation Areas
Presentation Areas
Boardrooms
Team Building Activities: Bumper
Cars
• Improve– Appearance of facilities
• Competitors have dark/dingy feel• Most competitors emulate real world
conference room without taking into consideration resident viewing window
– “Orientation to SL” for newbies• That are entering for work purposes
Conference/Training Facilities
• Improve– Possibly:
– Creating Avatars– Customizing Avatars in real world appearance
• For business persons with little time, knowledge, or desire
– Real world advertising and explanation of our services
• Something many forget or poorly do
Conference/Training Facilities
To expand into…
To Expand into: Simulation Exercises
To Expand into: Layout Testing
• Making Profit– Companies would be charged
• Rental of facilities• Customer service assistance• Customization factors
Conference/Training Facilities
• Advertising•Youtube.com• SecondLife• Executive/HR magazines• Google Tabs
