Universal joints provides simple and economic method of connecting to shafts whose axis are inclined at an angle. They are also used when the angle varies during rotation eliminating the need for the complicated and expensive. mechanism usually associated with this type of application. For both intermittent and continuosly rated joints where constant lubrication (such as oil bath) is not available, joint covered with once grease packed will take care of lubrication bearing etc. The use of universal joints avoids the necessity for pricise alignment there by considerably reducing assembly costs. Universal are frequently used in an agricultural textile, multi spindle drilling machine, VTL Lathe, S.P.M. Etc.
