Our ServicesThe sport of Schutzhund was developed in Germany to test a dog's ability to perform and obey in addition to ensuring certain bloodlines as it pertains to tasks related to being protection dog.  At Rising S K9, IPO training and Schutzhund training is really only the begining.  This title ensures that the dog can hold up to the stress that this training can bring. Every Rising S K9 is Schutzhund or IPO ranked.  All of the protection skills our dogs learn start from this foundational sport.

IPO stands for "Internationale Prüfungs-Ordnung".  IPO training was formerly known as Schutzhund training but in today’s modern format of the sport; there is virtually no difference between Schutzhund and IPO.  

We are proud to present our champions, multiple trophy holders, mothers and fathers of some of the best world breeds.

These dogs are highly intelligent and capable of performing countless duties.  Rising S offers top level training to prepare the dog for the tasks ahead of it.

Executive Protection Dogs

Your dog’s ability to perform tasks successfully is largely contingent on your own ability to understand, communicate clearly and control the dog.  This training can take days or sometimes weeks.

Executive Protection Dogs

Training a dog doesn’t stop with the dog’s skill set alone.  No matter what you’ve been told; you can’t buy a protection dog “off the shelf” and go home with it the same day.  If you want the best out of your dog; a unique bond must be formed between the dog and the handler and this can’t be rushed.  The dog must accept you as the alpha and come to trust you on it’s own.  

The dogs are focused only on the visual cues of a bite sleeve or verbal commands from it’s handler and not much more. That is the real difference between a Rising S K9 and a dog trained solely for Schutzhund / IPO.  Cross training beyond standard sport training is where Rising S dogs rise above the rest.

Guard Dogs

All of our dogs are IPO certified or Schutzhund trained to ensure they are conditioned physically and mentally for the stresses that come from being a working protection dog. However that is just the beginning.  All of our dogs will then be cross trained with the same KNPV methods that are used on military and police dogs. This is to help the dog learn how to make decisions that ensure they can perform their tasks at the highest level.

However beyond the protection dog training; some dogs are going to have specialized jobs and we can train your dog for the specific tasks you have in store.

Why Us?

It’s important to clarify that being Schutzhund trained or IPO certified dogs are sport dogs trained in a sport that revolves around protection skills. It does NOT mean that it is a dog that will protect.  Dogs that are trained to compete bite-sports see it for what it is…. a game.

The sport of IPO & Schutzhund is only the beginning of making a dog that will perform under the pressure of real scenarios.  Scenarios where they face real resistance and force. Scenarios that truly test the dogs drive to win a struggle. A well trained dog will be cross trained with Schutzhund / IPO skills aswell as KNPV skills.
