Mowgli are a not-for-profit global mentoring organisation

• One of the greatest challenges facing the world today is poverty, and this affects not just financial standing, but also aspiration.

• While the developed world deals with the consequences of the serious economic slowdown, the impact upon developing countries and their communities is that they can no longer rely on aid for assistance.

• The Mowgli Foundation recognises the value and power of mentoring. Widely acknowledged to be a key driver in achieving sustainable business success, our aim at Mowgli is to use mentoring to unlock potential in the developing world.

Who are Mowgli?• The Mowgli Foundation is a new not for profit organisation set up to make a difference to aspiring entrepreneurs,

predominantly in the developing world, through the power of mentoring.

Our Vision• One of the greatest challenges facing the world today is poverty, and this affects not just financial standing, but

also aspiration. While the developed world deals with the consequences of the serious economic slowdown, the impact upon developing countries and their communities is that they can no longer rely on aid for assistance.

• We envision an end to poverty by creating an ‘enabling environment’ that facilitates enterprise and entrepreneurship. Our aim is to use mentoring, widely acknowledged to be a key driver in achieving sustainable business success, to unlock potential in the developing world.

How we will achieve this

• We match mentors and mentees from across the globe, creating a two-way relationship that provides inspiration, guidance and, critically, companionship for aspiring entrepreneurs.

• To date we have run four programmes, three in Jordan and one in Lebanon, and have a further three currently in plan. We have plans to expand to other regions in the Middle East as well as the UK.

• Through various initiatives and partnerships, we now have a large pipeline ofentrepreneurs needing our support.

programme“Has anyone ever asked you to mentor them? It is a humbling experience: it makes you re-evaluate your own assumptions

and prejudices. Imagine being asked to mentor someone in a foreign country with different customers and pressures? Just before you dismiss this out of hand the experience will be life

changing. I have just returned from Jordan where I had the most amazing time. My mentee is a Palestinian named Amjad, who is setting up a business to sell language courses on mobile

phones. He believes the Mowgli programme to be incredibly important in helping him achieve his objectives.
