Analysis of the Supply Chain

Group 1:•Supplier being able to provide info•What does the BCM Plan mean and what's it saying•Where are the dependencies?•We have to review and test the BCM arrangements - can you trust what you are being told?•Does the supplier understand what you are asking for?•Realistic assessment of what they can actually deliver.•They may not be a key supplier to other customers and therefore may not understand the requirement! •Help suppliers to up skill!•Help to identify issues through testing.•Ensure potential suppliers know how you will be evaluating the bids•Benefit - Opportunity to future proof the contact.•Ensure supplier understands BCM•Are you a critical customer, I.e. How important are you to them?•Public sector being pushed down a certain route and all assume that someone else is doing the BCM  component.•I think that we should be promoting the level of service we offer before being asked.

SCCM Strategies

Group 2:•Be pragmatic – bear in mid constraints of time/resources/length of contract. Be realistic. •Be prepared to change strategy depending on the area impacted.•Get right resources involved.•Good 2 way dialogue key.•Make sure they’ve got accreditation or are aligned to it, could be the starting point.•Prioritise your supply chain review using – prioritise those without 22301 accreditation over those with.

Managing a disruption in the supply chain

Group 3:•Communication with the right parties internally and externally, preferably before an incident and how to communicate it effectively to your clients and where possible in a timely manner.•Prioritisation of actions that need to be taken relevant to your business model.•Working within the time frame for actions to be taken within, relevant to your business model.
