Facebook First• ‘Like’ industry news media, events, and client brands to connect your network to your preferred

resources

• Get your friend talking! Ask questions about your posts, share inspiring quotes, comment on posts, articles.

• @friends, TV shows, groups, etc. – so content appears on their wall too

• Post at least 10-15 times on Monday, Tues, Wed. (hottest days)

• Remember, Sunday night is a high time for Facebook users

• It's okay to post on Facebook without urls –you want people commenting!

• Use TwitterKeys, share photos and ‘Like’/comment on relevant ‘Friend’ to enhance your experience!

• Share your press mentions, upcoming industry/trade participation, accolades etc., to solicit feedback (goal: to create continuous, positive, original content for your brand positioning)

BIZ TIP: Use Facebook as an additional background check source, to get additional data points on a person on a prospective business stakeholder.

Pro: Easy to build deep connections. Great third-party applications.

Re-Tweet This• Make tweets personal, bold and eye catching! • Make tweet understandable but tease the rest• Do not assume your Twitter friends know the 'insider' language

of your industry/brand• @reply relevant followers when tweeting something about

them• @ reply to companies, products, magazines, etc. – any content

professionally relevant • Thank friends for RTs• It's okay to tweet without links (but only if nothing on site

exists related to)• Tweet to solicit feedback (turn feedback into content for your

site!)• Always use su.pr to send tweets• Follow, track and reference Hashtags e.g. ‘WPS2011’. • Participate in top trending topics! • Leave enough character space for people to easily RT

Your LinkedIn Upgrade• Great referral network • Optimal platform for building an influential online

personal brand• Doubles as a reference checks and to get additional

background information about people prior to meeting or doing business with them

• Add your LinkedIn profile page to your email signature. or gmail click on 'settings' in the upper right hand corner and in the text box half way down the page labeled 'signature' enter a custom signature including your new Public Profile URL.

• Connect with your existing contacts. Click on 'add connections' on the left side of the screen and follow the process of letting LinkedIn scan your gmail, outlook or other contact lists. By doing so you will be able to invite your contacts to connect using the very easy process provided on the site.
