Hazard Risk Strategies for controlling the risk
Wires on the floor People could trip over the wires and hurt themselves
Make sure the wires are out of the way and taped to the floor so as not to be a hazard
Knocking over equipment Someone could break the equipment or (in the case of the lights) start a fire
Make sure the equipment is out of the way and placed in a safe place, make sure the lights are clearly marked and are fixed to the ground
Flash could hurt people’s eyes Model could have epilepsy or could hurt eyes
Check the flash is off before taking pictures
Carpet floor If model falls over on carpet they could get carpet burn
Make sure there is nothing to trip the model up
Other people may want to use the same space at the same time
Crowed area full of people, more likely for people to sustain injuries
Be observant and check no one has booked the same studio I want
Slipping on a wooden floor on the way to the classroom
Slip and hurt themselves or break something
Act sensibly and wear shoes with grip
Model falling off stool/ chair Could hurt themselves or break something
Be careful and try not to get the model to pose in an unsafe way
