Valio knows the origin of its products

We use high-quality milk in our products at all times. Those manufactured in Finland are made from clean Finnish milk collected at our dairy farms every other day. We know where our raw material comes from.

We supervise product quality from farm to dairy As well as several times in production. We run an uninterrupted distribution cold chain. Securing tasty, safe products for consumers.

The work of Valio dairy farms in Finland is guided by our Quality Manual Almost all our dairy farms operate a quality agreement with Valio. It promotes cows’ well-being and milk quality.

Taking good care of our cows

Almost half of Finland’s cows live in free stall barns. Valio cows get no GMO feed. Valio and our dairy farmers work together to improve cows’ well-being.

Milk combines natural ingredients making the environment important to us We organise efficient milk collection and product distribution. We make expert use of raw materials. We increase energy efficiency and the share of renewable energy employed in production. We reduce waste water load and water consumption. 80% of Valio packages can be recycled. Our products are delivered to shops and other customers on trays that are 85% recyclable.
