RECYCLERussell AdamCusano Skirvin
WHAT IS RECYCLING?
Recycling is re-using certain materials over and over again to preserve resources. Resources are preserved in this way because they aren't being used to create new materials. Recycling is associated with the color green because green is commonly used as the color to in efforts to save the world
WHATS THE PROBLEM?
There are many problems in the battle to help save the world by making people
recycle properly:
• NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE RECYCLE • Some people are not sure what to
throw away or to recycle so they just throw it all in one or the other bins
SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMSThere are two good solutions to these issues:
RAISE RECYCLING AWARNESS
-AND-
SHOW THEM HOW TO RECYCLE PROPELY
Solution 1: Recycling Awareness
One of the best agencies for helping our world (not just in recycling) is The
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
EPAThe EPA’s Job is to help our environment
in any way they can, including by stopping people from doing things wrong that will hurt the environment. One of the most important concepts in their agency is
RECYCLING
According to EPA
resources…
“Pay as You Throw”Over 7,000 communities across the nation have adopted a “Pay as You
Throw” program. With this program residents pay for each can or bag of
trash they throw away. The more you recycle the less trash you have to
throw away, therefore lower trash bills.
BusinessesBusinesses are helping recycle by
using less packaging on products. The less they use new materials the more can be recycled and the less they have
to buy. This allows them to lower there prices and still make a decent
profit. This in turn also allows you to save money
