The first stage was to get thecorrect dimension for a CDCover. I then opened up the MagazineAdvert to ensure I had the rightcolour I used on there.

I then cut out the picture usingthe ‘magnetic lasso tool’.

This is done to ensure thepicture can be placed ondifferent layers forexample without thebackground of the pictureshowing.

Once I was able to drag thepicture onto the correct sizedCD cover.

Production of the CD CoverI duplicated the layer in orderto get the same sized image. Ithen made the picture blackand white by simply clicking onthe ‘image’ tab clicking on‘mode’ then ‘greyscale’. Once the picture was black andwhite I used the brushes whichI used on the magazine advert andwas able to create a slight ‘torn’effect on her face to reinforce thename of the album.

I then duplicated the layerpreviously which allowed me tohave a third layer of the sameimage. Here I lightened theimage and again used thebrushes to create a ‘torn’effect, this time more then thepicture previously.

I repeated the processpreviously for the fourth time.However, this time lighteningthe picture further.

I repeated the processpreviously for the fifth and final time. However, this timelightening the picture further.

Production of the CD CoverLike on the magazine advert, Idecided to use the font‘Monotype Corsiva’ for

the artistsname ‘Amy Piner’. This fontstands out and its clear to read.I also added a drop shadow toensure the name stands out .

Like on the magazine advert Idecided to use the font ‘Trash’For the album name ‘TORN’.This font is clear to readand reinforces the albumname because of the torneffect on the edging.

At the bottom of the CD Cover Idecided to add the logo of therecord label as this isconventional.
