There are several factors for consideration when using a press conference as a way to deal with crisis management. There are three basic things that a person representing a company must do. Apologize for any wrongdoing which is negatively affecting their customer base. Address the core concerns which may negatively affect the public image of the company as a whole. Articulate changes which will be made to prevent further complications and hardships for the customer base. Using these three strategies will allow credibility to be restored to a damaged brand of company.

Apologizing For Inconvenience

This should be done it two times during the speech. The first thing that any representatives should do is apologize for any inconvenience to people who have supported the brand or organization in the past. This accepts responsibility for the problems that have taken place and connects with people’s need to feel the changes are going to be made. When this happens people are more likely to forgive issues which have them questioning the credibility of the company. It is important not to move from its things that cannot be delivered. This means that the wording of any public speech must be carefully considered so that people do not feel that hyperbole has entered the speech. Over a exaggeration is a guaranteed way to lose credibility.

Address Important Questions

People holding a press conference need to be willing to consider the viewpoint of their audience. During the speech questions about things that are going to be on the mind of the people who are listening to the speech should be done before the question and answer session. This means that if it’s necessary to anticipate the prospectus questions that the target audience would be asking. Providing answers to the most basic questions will help to restore credibility with individuals who were not sure about the intentions of the company that has lost favor with them. The more comprehensive the answers the easier it will be to regain credibility in a timely fashion without having to worry about the long-term ramifications of any damage which has been done to the public image of the company.
