OFW E-CARD
What is an OFW E-card?
The Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Electronic Card is a multi-function permanent identification card for OFWs certifying that a bearer is a POEA-documented (a legitimate worker) and an OWWA member.
Objective
To provide a permanent identification card for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with value-added features.
Background joint project of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) with the cooperation and assistance of the Department of Foreign Affairs including the various diplomatic missions abroad and the private sector
Background
Launched on February 26, 2002 with the Equitable Card Network Inc. handling the production of the said card
Implemented in Region 7 on June 2002
Features and Benefits of OFW E-card an identification card - used to facilitate transactions with OWWA, POEA and other government agencies
serves as a proof that cardholder is a legitimate OFW and an OWWA member

Who are qualified to receive an OFW E-card?
OFWs who are processing their overseas employment with POEA are qualified to be issued an E-card upon payment of the OWWA membership fee. OFWs abroad are likewise qualified upon renewal of their OWWA membership through the Voluntary Membership Program.THE E-CARD IS GIVEN FREE TO QUALIFIED OFWS
