About Ki Work

Ki Work is contracted with the DWP to provide Job Search Support for Newly Unemployed Professionals (JSSNUP) throughout the UK reference AAA280201. With a team of over 50 coaches, Ki Work is currently providing service to over 60 Jobcentres in London, South East, South West, East Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber and Scotland. The number of referrals has been doubling on a monthly basis, with the network of coaches and Jobcentres continuing to expand. Ki Work’s rapid growth can be attributed to the quality and experience of its coaches. Besides career advisory skills, most have had training in motivational support in addition to multiple qualifications in career and life coaching. They will have had lengthy experience as a professional or in middle and senior management positions across a wide range of sectors and disciplines. Ki Work’s coaches have a profound understanding of the trauma that many professionals are experiencing in losing their jobs. The shock, range and variety of feelings and coping mechanisms can be similar to bereavement. After a secure job with responsibility and status, it can be a major emotional challenge to get back out into the workplace, even more so in the current climate. Ki Work coaches are uniquely skilled and experienced and offer a bespoke, tailored service to JCP clients, supporting them to reframe their skills and to set goals. Above all we help them to find the strength and confidence to turn the situation around and feel motivated and optimistic again so that they can take positive actions towards their future career. Ki Work also provides the infrastructure that enables organisational resources to be widely distributed and managed through the use of digital tools and applications. This model has the benefits of flexibility and very low organisational overheads. In this way Ki Work is able to share most of the revenue with its coaches, thereby attracting the best qualified professionals in this field. The Ki Work infrastructure includes:

the provision of a web-based platform and marketplace for organisations to access an on-demand managed virtual workforce

facilities for entrepreneurs to create, market and operate their own virtual businesses, requiring minimal start-up and set-up costs

coaching support for professionals to “cross the chasm” from conventional employment to working flexibly through digital media.

Ki Work is currently incubating a number of projects on behalf of client organisations with teams that will eventually operate as independent virtual businesses. The contract with the DWP is Ki Work’s flagship project.
