The softer side of metal

Beginning in 1994, METALCON started a tradition

of erecting a Steel Structure to display to attendees

and exhibitors during the show.

Every year, each structure has been donated

to various organizations, including Habitat

for Humanity, (name of women’s shelter?).

Over the years, we’ve had a variety of different people who’ve helped to make this steel home a reality, including experts in Steel Framing, students from various Universities all over the country, and even those who had never built with steel before in their lives, but learned to do so through the help of STUD University, a 3-day program offered at METALCON covering the basics of framing with cold-formed steel as well as the latest advancements in Steel framing
