Like a hot-air balloon by Alessandro Carboni - special project Alig'art Festival 2011 Like a hot-air balloon is a geodesic dome made from recycled paper. The installation is inspired by R. Buckminster Fuller, inventor, architect, designer, philosopher, writer and television host U.S.. At the end of 1940, Fuller invented the geodesic dome. An ambitious project that would show a new concept of home as a geometric entity, energy and synergy. The new way of living, designed by the architect, sought to demonstrate that, used in the right circumstances, the geodesic dome could solve the pressing housing problems of the time, an economic crisis and real estate that Fuller had predicted in 1929.
