DESCRIPTION

This presentation was created by Mike Haldas, co-founder of AppBurst, to present at the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) 2013 event "Inspiring Conference Education" in Chicago. The topic of discussion was how to create mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android that can keep conference attendees informed at the event and also engaged with the meeting organizations and conference centers year round. The importance of good quality content as well as how to position content in mobile apps is discussed. Examples of existing mobile apps and features that AppBurst has developed using the "Apps for Events" platform and content management system are also covered. Mobile strategy needs to be thought out and integrated within your organization. We can help you strategize and we can implement in bite sized pieces if needed. Build it and they will come. NOT! Cross-promote it, feed it fresh content, and they will definitely come! QR codes at events, promote download on website, newsletters, blogs, articles, interaction. Leverage all of the ways you currently promote events and conference centers to promote your app. Do everything that you do on your website (and more) in your app. What does the conference center currently do to keep attendees engaged now ? Can this process be mobilized? Conference centers always have an upcoming events to talk about and promote. We already support multi-event apps! What is the value of an app download?

What does your marketing department spend on PPC and SEO?

Our most successful app has over 2 million downloads in an industry that averages $6.50 per PPC

An app download is at least a valuable as a click.

I think it is way better. Mobile users want to use apps and keep them installed for years (if you motivate them).

$6.50 x 2 million = $13,000,000
