Is Your Business Ready For Mobile Print? Almost every conversation we have with customers or prospects recently comes round to Bring Your Own Device, thanks to the explosion in demand for tablet PCs and the ever increasing sophistication of Smartphones. This rise in interest is all down to one thing; the boom in mobile connectivity, and people’s desire to be connected wherever they are, via whatever device they favour. Of course, we share this enthusiasm for exciting new devices and how they’re changing the way we work, but it’s important not to overlook the implications that this increased mobility has on a company’s print strategy. Until recently, the issue of mobile print was mainly a talking point, something to come back to another day. That day is now, and mobile print needs to be part of a company’s overall print strategy, as people increasingly expect to be able to print from all brands of mobile devices, to all brands of printers. It’s not just employees who need this facility, but visiting partners, clients and customers.

Many of them will have a need or a desire to print conveniently and securely from your workplace. The key word there of course is secure. While mobile print needs to be convenient, it can’t be at the expense of document security; we have all read or heard of the loss of trust and damage to a brand’s reputation when there is a high-profile document security breach.

While there’s no doubt that mobile print’s time is now, IT personnel will be relieved to know that mobile print is not another headache for already pressured IT departments. Solutions like Xerox Mobile Print for example are about simplicity, you can choose between an easy to use app or email submission, so that any typical office document such as Word, Excel or Powerpoint prints correctly – and it needs no print drivers. In fact, with Xerox Mobile Print, IT managers and administrators no longer have to manage unique drivers for various print devices – it enables people to print from any mobile device, to any printer, regardless of brand.

Furthermore, for companies that already have a Managed Print Service in place, Xerox Mobile Print can be installed by Xeretec without any interruption to the business.

Mobile print is the ideal complement to the shift we’re seeing in how people work and what devices they use, and the demand for it is there.
