Indoor or Outdoor Pool – which is best for you?

Swimming pools add a touch of glamour, they’re highly desirable, great fun and brilliantfor parties. Not only that, having a swimming pool will keep you fit, gives you a place tochill out and will make you extremely popular with your friends!

But what kind of swimming pool will best suit your lifestyle – indoor or outdoor? Let’stake a quick look at some of the important considerations:

Indoor Pools

These are easier to maintain than outdoor pools and you won’t have the hassle of cleaningout leaves, insects and other outdoors debris. Indoor pools are also available to you 24/7,365 days a year so you can enjoy the pool whenever you like with no hindrance from theweather.

However, if you wanted a pool to sunbathe by and enjoy summer outdoor parties thenclearly an indoor pool isn’t going to give you those things. Indoor pools are also moreexpensive and there will be additional costs associated with keeping your pool room andthe pool itself warm. You will also need to ensure that you have appropriate ventilation tostop condensation and to manage heat and humidity.

Outdoor Pools

Nothing can beat an outdoor pool on a hot summer’s day. You can chill out, relax, sunbathe, have friends around and enjoy the general ambience. Outdoor pools also tend tobe a bit cheaper than an indoor pool to install, depending on the specification.

On the other hand, there is more maintenance with an outdoor pool and you will behindered by the weather. Summer is obviously your optimum time for using the pool andthere may be some really nice days in spring when you might be able to take advantage.Winter and autumn however are a bit of a write-off.

Large Pool Enclosures

You could of course enjoy the best of both worlds! A large pool enclosure will give youthe option to have a transparent structure that you can slide over the pool and protect yourfrom the weather. This means that when the weather is not suitable for outdoor swimming, you can slide the enclosure over your pool and have suitable shelter. Alternatively youcan slide the enclosure back when the weather is fine and enjoy the sunshine. Large poolenclosures can also reduce the amount of cleaning and maintenance that you need to do.
