Our runway extension will be complete in 2014, delivering valuable capacity and long-haul connectivity for the UK

• Spring 2014 – Birmingham Airport’s full length runway becomes operational

• 8.9 million passengers - used the Airport in 2012

• 18 million passengers – maximum short-term capacity (within 3 years)

• 36 million passengers – maximum capacity of new runway (within 10 years)

• 27 million passengers – amount of capacity with long-haul capability Birmingham Airport can add to the UK aviation network from 2014

• Passengers will be able to fly direct to key business and leisure destinations including: Los Angeles, Vancouver, Johannesburg, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Rio de Janeiro

• 18.7 million people – for whom Birmingham is the most convenient long-haul airport

• 45 million people - will live within two hours of Birmingham Airport
