WHAT IS A SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP
A Sole proprietorship is a business which is owned, managed and controlled by Single person. It is one of the most common forms of business in India, utilized by small businesses operating in the unorganized sectors. Proprietorships are very easy to start and have minimum regulatory compliance requirement for getting started.
Proprietorship’s are recognized by other registrations, such as a service or sales tax registration etc. As Proprietorship’s are easy to setup it leads to many shortcomings, like liability of proprietor is unlimited and it does not have continuous existence. For these reasons it is considered by small merchants and Traders.

•A sole Proprietorship is inexpensive as compared to One Person Company and It has minimum compliance requirement
Audit not required
• A sole proprietorship is not required to file audited statements with ministry of corporate Affairs each year. However tax audit may be required if Turnover exceeds certain Prescribed limits.
Taxation • A proprietorship with income of less than Rs 2Lacs per annum is not required to pay income tax.

• Other Registration like Trade License, Shop Establishment License, etc
