Time ManagementWhen it comes to entrepreneurship, the work

never seems to be done. There is always

something else that needs work.

If time management is not utilized, all of your

available time can become work time. Eventually

overworking results in fatigue, decreased

cognitive function, a diminished ability to process

information and make decisions, and difficulty

concentrating.

MRI scans show that fatigued brains look exactly

like brains that are sound-asleep. Boundaries

have to be set to maintain a healthy work-life

balance.

Learn to Say NoMuch like stated above, if there is not a clear set

of boundaries, everything is doable, and the

people around you will think you are always

available.

For example, imagine a client calls on your cell at

9 p.m. Do you take the call in fear of losing out on

a customer? Or do you answer and tell them that

after a certain hour, you are spending family

time?

If you do take the phone call, you can almost

guarantee that it won’t be the last late night

phone call.

If you do the latter, you’ll set clear expectations,

have more free time, and you will most likely gain

respect from the client rather than lose their

business.

Socialize

One of the advantages of entrepreneurship is creating your own schedule, yet on the other side, the pitfall is a blurred line between when you are working and when you are off. Especially when working from home, people can find themselves missing out on social activities. At the office place, random conversations with coworkers can create a feeling ofcommunity that is lacking at a virtual workspace. Find ways to socialize with others. Whether it be working at a coffee shop where you strike a conversation with the first person who makes eye contact or planning trips to network, make time for human connection.

Body SignalsAs humans become overloaded and overworked,

anxieties and stressors can begin to affect the

body in negative ways.

Learn to pay attention to body signals in order to

thwart fatigue, sickness, and even depression.

Headaches, stomach aches, and even neck

pains can all be a sign that your body is feeling

overworked.

Burnouts can affect your physical, mental, and

emotional well-being. Self-awareness, time

management, and time off can help build your

mind, body, and your business.
