Phil plays lacrosse. He’s been playing lacrosse for ten years and he

loves it.

He loves it so much he started a small business selling lacrosse

sticks and cleats on SidelineSwap, an online sports marketplace.

After posting a dozen items, Phil was still waiting to make his first

sale after 3 months.

As a new user, Phil didn’t know anyone in the marketplace and no

one knew him. He had no reputation. Business wasn’t

friends and LinkedIn connections. He uploaded a photo, too. Look how cool Phil is now.

Finally, Phil got his first sale. Then he got another one. After a month’s time he’d made 8 sales and counting,

worth $235.00. Phil’s now a known commodity in SidelineSwap and is connected to other sellers. Phil was so happy he named his dog eRated. Well, his goldfish,

actually.
