DESCRIPTION
Needless to say, China online luxury market is a gourmet pie. Albeit with its current stranded issue to solve, it never stops people making ventures to taste a slice, now this time including a move from UK luxury e-retailer Net-a-Porter. On March 1st, Net-a Porter confirmed its acquisition of a HongKong background high-fashion online mall, Shouke.com. The financial terms of the deal have not been revealed so far. Then the site was magically transformed into the Chinese version of the company’s discount couture outlet, and officially launched on March 20th, as TheOutnet.cn. It offers, like Outnet other international locations, seasonal discounts on fashion items from many designer brands such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry, and Jil Sander etc. Other focuses in this issue: - Most committed and socialized online shoppers are in China - Suning, the next 360buy in line? - Dangdang struggles to survive from the chilly winter - Tencent’s consolidate efforts towards e-Commerce This report is issued by L'Atelier BNP Paribas www.atelier.net
