Case study – HDFC bank Ltd.
Customer HDFC Bank Ltd.
Project Subsequent to the merger of erstwhile Centurion Bank of Punjab Ltd. (eCBOP) & HDFC Bank Ltd (HDFCB) the data from core-banking application of eCBOP needs to be archived and maintained centrally. An ERM(Archival) System is proposed for the same wherein the user can access data from all application centrally rather than checking the same individually in different applications.
Applications 1) Kapiti – Equation2) Finacle 6.2 & Finace 7.03) Flexcube4) ISBS
Challenge Bank migrated all its branches to FinOne. The old data was available in about 4 legacy applications with varied file structures viz., DB2,MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc., Legacy applications were not maintained by the vendors. Total database size around 6 TB.
Solution 1) Study of file structures of legacy applications2) Designing a Data Repository to hold data of multiple legacy applications3) Developing Data Extraction Tools4) Porting Data into proposed Solution5) Rigorous testing UAT to scrap legacy applications
Benefits / Results 1) It was the first such project to archive entire CBS database in a Private Bank.2) As of now, Bank uses only 2 URLs viz., One to Bank’s CBS for current data and
another to Nelito’s solution for historical data.
