INTRO

Being a product manager is much like being a scientist. Scientists and philosophers have spent countless years understanding how to make rational decisions. Customer Development and Lean Startups are all about iterative experimentation, using data to understand your customers and to shape your product. While customer development and lean methodology are discussed a lot in the startup scene, the basic tenets involving hypotheses and experimenting apply just as well to product management at companies of all sizes. Companies live or die by understanding who their customers are and building products that those customers want. Product managers must always be discovering the answers to who wants a product, why they want it, and if that desire will scale sufficiently. Invariably, product managers must orient founders that their awesome technology is not enough. Each week, The Global Product Management Talk is a real time event featuring an expert guest speaker who asks questions of the participants on Twitter in a Socratic discussion, with a simultaneous audio discussion broadcast over BlogTalkRadio.
