• Evo Client on Zapper STB Project– Enables unified Client UI experience for STBs deployed in ER Telecom’s
network
• Hybrid Project – Phase 1 (March 2012 service launch)– Introduce hybrid STB to ER Telecom’s market
– Deploy TV, VOD, StartOver and CatchupTV services to hybrid STB subscribers
– Deploy initial set of OTT VOD services and 3rd party clients
– Deliver in-home media/picture application on STB via DLNA client provided by the STB
The above projects are dependent on ER Telecom’s network project to ensure sufficient IP network bandwidth is available in the required cities and to the end subscribers.

• Hybrid Project – Phase 2 (June/July 2012 service launch)– Expand OTT service offering for VOD, introduce OTT Live TV services
including EPG browsing and remote DVR scheduling and deploy OTT Catchup TV services
– Deliver Espial Browser with Adobe Flash integrated (option that can be added in) on the hybrid STB to enable development of ER Telecom “TV internet” services/applications
• Hybrid Project – Phase 3 (November 2012 service launch)– OTT TSTV StartOver services with HLS streaming
– In-home media player application (multiple formats) on STB via DLNA client and media player provided by the STB
The above projects are dependent on ER Telecom’s network project to ensure sufficient IP network bandwidth is available in the required cities and to the end subscribers.

• This project delivers:– Evo Client ported to the Kaon hybrid STB and Espial reference HD
client UI– In addition to the basic TV services available on the zapper STB,
the hybrid client supports:• Local DVR (DVR scheduling, recorded program list, playback
recordings with trickplay support (pause, FF, REW), pause live TV (timeshift TV buffer for 1-2 hours))
• Search (EPG, VOD) by title, genre, actor, director – VOD:
• From hybrid STB client side: movie navigation, purchase/entitlements and play (over IP connection)
• From HE side: content ingest, pre-encryption, content storage and content distribution
• From backoffice side: different business models can be provisioned for offering VOD service: transaction-based VOD, SVOD, etc.

– TSTV Services:• StartOver TV:
– From hybrid client side: while the program is airing, an end-subscriber can start playback of the program from the beginning (over IP connection)
– From HE side: capture live streams while they are being aired and make these streams available for StartOver TV playback to the end-subscriber
• Catchup TV:– From hybrid client slide: select and watch programs from
Catchup TV portal, for up to 7 days after the program has aired (over IP connection)
– From HE side: store the Catchup TV assets from the recorded stream and make these assets available for watching through the Catchup TV portal.

– In-home media player application (multiple formats) on STB via DLNA client and media player provided by the STB
• content from home PC or 3rd party server in the home to be played out to the STB
• content formats to be supported: mkv, avi, ts, asf, mov, RealMedia, mp4, mpg
• Specific use cases for the application are required from ER Telecom• This project is dependent on media player functionality that is
provided by the underlying platform -> if required Espial can provide a 3rd party media player for integration at additional cost
• STB vendor needs to ensure that all licenses are in place for using the various content formats
– OTT TSTV StartOver services with HLS streaming• ER Telecom should look at business model and potential user uptake
for this service to justify the cost of the required equipment.
