The Rocky Fire
+ The fire began July 29, 2015 and lasted 16 days + 69,438 acres were burned destroying 43 residences
and 53 outbuildings
+ Cause of the fire is still under investigation
+ Over 20 public safety agencies worked together during the fire to communicate information to residents

+ Throughout the fire, Nixle alerts were sent from local fire departments and the Lake County Sheriff
+ Most messages included evacuation updates and safety reminders
+ Updates also sent out about road closures due to the fire

+ A Nixle Alert was sent out to residents with information about the missing child
+ Message details included description of missing boy and last known location

+ Honolulu DEM sent out an advisory message to residents and how to be prepared for Hurricane Guillermo
+ Tips included keeping emergency supplies stocked, maintaining a high level of awareness and creating a disaster supply kit
+ Residents urged to sign up for Nixle to receive emergency messages and updates
