MissionMission

• EASE is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious professional

organization that promotes the cooperation between the United States and

Egypt in the areas of Science, Engineering, Technology, Education and

Business. The association supports the professional interests of Egyptian-

American Scientists and Engineers in the United States, strengthens

community development, and fosters the contribution of its members to

the American society.

ObjectivesObjectives

EASE Association strives to provide professional development, global outreach, and community service opportunities. EASE objectives shall include, but not limited to the following:

∀ N e t w o r k in g : Provide an effective platform for networking and technical information exchange to create opportunities for professional development, career growth, entrepreneurship, and business development.

∀ M e m b e r s h ip B e n e f i t s : Provide services to support professional needs of the members. Services include but not limited to; organizing workshops, supporting attendance of conferences and technical seminars, disseminating literature, and collaborating with schools and industries on different projects.

∀ M e n t o r s h ip : Assist junior professionals and students in their career growth through mentorship programs.

∀ G lo b a l C o l la b o r a t io n : Promote fellowship and collaborative atmosphere among members and their counterparts in the United States and Egypt.

∀ R e c o g n it io n : Recognize professional contributions and achievements.

• EASE registered as a non-profit organization on May 25, 2011

• 9 board members

• Facebook page is up and running.

• 55 members - Goal by 5/25/2012 is to have 200 members

• Web page is under construction with ECD at end of July

• 501C3 application is in progress --- ECD for submitting the papers to the IRS mid September.

• Planning for EASE first conference has started. Conference is anticipated in Fall 2012

• Organization affairs committee meets every week.

• Mentorship Project: Every volunteer mentors 1 or 2 graduate or

undergraduate students to be successful researchers or professional

• Includes technical advice + leadership, communication, writing skills

• 1 - 2 years of mentorship

• Status:

• Approved by Edu committee and EASE board

• Starting first phase (experienced mentors guide and advice us)

• Needs:• Volunteers for graduate level (academic track)

• Volunteers for undergraduate level (professional track)

Outsourcing Committee

Objectives: Investigate opportunities of collaboration between Boeing and EgyptAir in the areas of Engineering Services, Interior Design, and Maintenance Services. This includes:

• Optimize an existing facility layout• Select and acquire the appropriate machinery and equipment• Assess the suitability of maintenance facilities for new airplane models.• Increase capabilities to handle new maintenance activities.• Develop capacity to offer third-party

• EgyptAir to build a low cost maintenance services model

• Seek out partnership with major aviation providers in the area of maintenance operations

• Seeking to have a long term global team across USA. Increase the areas of opportunities to all the A/P sizes

Status:Communication with officials from EgyptAir and the Boeing company.Identify EASE role once communication is established.Identify capabilities, education and experience of individuals involved in the project.

•Committee consists of 12 members from Aerospace engineering, meet every 2 weeks.

• Background – H u m a n it a r ia n D e l iv e r y F l ig h t P r o g r a m ( H D F )

• Working together, Boeing, its airline customers, and non-profit / non-government (NGO) organizations partner throughout the world to bring humanitarian goods to people in need. Through the Humanitarian Delivery Flight (HDF) program, items such as, medicine, medical equipment or supplies, and educational materials, are loaded into the empty cargo space of a new Boeing airplane being delivered in Seattle or Everett, Washington and transported to an airline customer's home destination. Upon arrival, the goods clear customs and are distributed to those in need by the NGO.

• Idea• EASE to work with Boeing and EgyptAir to coordinate a free shipment on EgyptAir’s 737

airplane delivered in November 2011

• Phase 1• Identify the needs of Egypt, from Egypt.• Identify what we can accomplish from US.• Three disciplines:

• Medical equipments and Medicine.• Education - Engineering Books, Software, Hardware, labs, etc.• Charity – Goes to orphans and needy people through NGO (Alresalah, Misr Alkhair)

• Phase 2• Work with each donor/participant.• Collect everything in a central location.• Organize and package – make ready for flight and distribution

• Phase 3• Ship• Customs and Clearance• Distribution
