Doppler Flow Meters operate on the

principle that sound waves become

shorter as a source comes nearer

and longer as it moves away.

The transducer generates a

continuous high frequency sound

which passes through the pipe

surface into the liquid. The sound

reflects off solid particles or air

bubbles present in the liquid back

to the sensor in the device.

When the fluid is moving, the

sound returns at a different

frequency. Doppler Flow Meters

continuously measure the

difference in sound wave

frequencies to determine the

liquid’s precise flow rate.
