Project management plan - the principal tool for project management

Project management plan = PMP = project plan Built up gradually Each unit we do will contribute a document towards

the PMP Many of you already have some of these

documents

Suggest the same project is used all the way through – but I am negotiable

Project Management Plan

Each unit or chapter is completed one at a time

Due no later than two weeks after unit ends There will be time in class I strongly suggest doing this in class

Report preparation

Introduction Context or brief description Project charter Scope management – including change

management Time management Costs management – including change management Quality management HR management Communications management Risk management Procurement management

The table of contents page or report structure

PMP components or bits from the Table of contents.

The structure or content of each unit will be ◦ Discussed in class◦ Change to suit your project◦ Must address all the aspects we discuss◦ If bits not applicable – say not applicable.

The changes will become obvious over coming weeks

The notes will still be visible Some of the activities will be the same Submitting activities – just follow the LMS

It will be about the same amount of work Watch the LMS Each unit will include

◦ Initial powerpoint presentation from SB◦ Reading the notes from LMS◦ Searching internet for egs◦ Discussion around structure & content of PMP

component◦ Role play◦ Complete PMP component

More or less assessment?

PMP component due in two weeks after unit finishes

Strongly suggest finishing PMP component in class

Time is available If you want a pass in the subject submit
