Digipak analysis-background

• Believe is Justin Biebers third studio album • It was released June 15th 2012• 521,000 units/copies of his album were sold in

its opening weekend.• The album additionally debuted at number

one on the UK Albums Chart, and was later certified gold there.

Digipak analysis- Front cover

The front cover shows the face of Justin Bieber which helps the people who buy the album recognise the artist straight away.

Conventions: The main artist being the main focus on the front cover.

Target audience: I think the target audience is young teenagers mostly targeted at girls as he is an attractive guy which attract the audience.

Composition- Justin biebers face is positioned on the front cover in the center to make the artist stand out.

Connotation: the image of Justin Bieber connotates youth and links with the target audience which is young teenagers. The album name also connates youth in the way its called believe and it tries to get the message across that any young teenager can do whatever they want if they ‘Believe’.

Digipak analysis- spine

Has the name of the artist and album which tells the people buying it what its called.

The colour of the writing is a type of gold on the words ‘Deluxe edition’ as it does with the name of the artist, which suggests that this edition is unique and different to the normal edition of the cd. The colour also makes the spine of the cd case stand out.

We can also see some logos on the left hand corner which could be the companies that were involved within the making of the album. It is also a convention on every music album.

The colour on the back cover the digipak is bright and bold which helps the case stand out. This is also a convention of the pop genre which will therefore help people know its from the pop genre.

Representation- the image of Justin sitting on a seat playing the guitar which represents that anyone can do anything if they believe which also links with the album name ‘Believe’.

Genre- The way you can tell this is a pop genre is by the clothes the artist is wearing which are very fashionable

As you can see on the guitar cover it says believe which helps the remind the audience of the album name.

There is also the list of songs on the album to make the people aware what's songs are on the cd.
