CBG BENEFITS + MAXWELL
VS. A TYPICAL PEO Simplicity vs. Confusion
CBG Benefits + Maxwell With a PEO -‐ You won’t have the hassle of explaining several
similar plans when, in reality, 2 or 3 will fit the bill for what your team needs. And if not? We can always add more or change some out if the need arises.
-‐ You’re required to offer a larger variety of plans, even if they aren’t well-tailored to your employees. This makes more work for you when it comes time for enrollment, and you run the risk of people not choosing what’s optimal for them or your business.
Rich, Customized Plan Selection vs. Rigid Plan Selection
CBG Benefits + Maxwell With a PEO -‐ We can work with virtually any carrier, offer you
any plan and will work with you to find what’s best for your team’s unique needs, especially as you grow.
-‐ They often work with only one carrier (and that carrier’s network), which limits your choices initially, and are inflexible on the slate of plans they’re able to offer you.
Flexibility vs. Inflexibility
CBG Benefits + Maxwell With a PEO -‐ Your employees remain your employees. If you
get a rate increase during the year, we’ll work with you to switch to a different carrier or plan -- and that won’t affect your tax status or your other benefits in any way. If your team grows quickly or as your needs change, we can recalibrate your benefits strategy in real time and help support you optimally.
-‐ Your employees (legally) become employees of the PEO. That means your FICA and other taxes are paid under the PEO’s tax ID number. As a result of this, if you ever need to change your setup as you grow or as your needs evolve, it’s virtually impossible to move off of that PEO arrangement mid-year.
Extra Benefits vs. None
CBG Benefits + Maxwell With a PEO -‐ Your broker covers the basics, and Maxwell goes
above and beyond that. We offer a concierge service to keep your health costs down throughout the year and a mobile app so everything is in one convenient place – all this while helping simplify care interactions for your team.
-‐ You get the bare bones - no concierge, no wellness program, no app for your team to have their benefits and fitness information at their fingertips.

Affordability vs. Extra Fees
CBG Benefits + Maxwell With a PEO -‐ With CBG Benefits and Maxwell, everything is
streamlined and we keep extraneous fees to a minimum, and we’re always transparent about pricing with both you and your broker. Period.
-‐ Expect to pay a monthly fee, the breakdown of which won’t be transparent to you. Also, you’ll always pay a setup fee, regardless of the benefits you do or do not opt to receive.
Managing Medical Spend vs. Being Pooled with Larger Group
With CBG Benefits + Maxwell (for groups over 100) With a PEO
-‐ Our technology helps recognize and proactively manage your claims so that at renewal time, if you show a decrease in claims history, that will materially impact the bottom line of your health coverage costs. With tools like automatic claims review and the concierge service, your medical spend is in good hands with CBG Benefits and Maxwell.
-‐ You’re tied to a larger book of business and any general increase of that larger book gets passed through to you. They won’t take into consideration your employees’ health or efforts to manage that health and wellbeing.
