• Takes into account the holistic approach of BRAC

• Baseline survey has been carried out in 2009 for Uganda and The Sierra Leone baseline survey will be finished by the end of this month

• Discontinuity model with control and treatment group

• Backed up by qualitative findings

• Make use of livelihood framework

• Integration of gender into evaluation framework is not challenging as such

• Increase in the capacity to acquire natural and physical assets like land and housing.

• Improvement in social capital such as their network with other members in their communities as well as their level of belongingness within the wider community.

• Increased participation in government institutions and policy making

• Rise in financial capital particularly their savings and credit worthiness

• Enhanced capacity and ability to take care of or finance their children‟s educational, health and nutritional needs.

• Female empowerment in the decision making process in the household and increased control over assets
