Book Review: Using Tricks in Business

(In Hebrew, by Israel Lavi, Matar Publishing, Tel Aviv, 2015)

The following review of this book was published in Haaretz Books Supplement, on 1 Dec. 2016. As you can see, it is extremely critical of many aspects in this book.

It is quite evident that the added value of this book for Competitive Intelligence professionals who are working basically in accordance with the qualified approach led by SCIP (Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals. (https://www.scip.org/) is insignificant.

We, in the Israeli CI Forum, (FIMAT), believe of highly professional work that is largely based on legal and ethical approach and focus on strong analytical skills, in order to give really added value to the decision makers.

Let me lead you to a very good and useful book on intelligence in business that was translated to

Hebrew and is called "Intelligence in Business" (in Hebrew: modin beolam haasakim) written by CI

world leader Leonard Fuld, that was published in Israel in 2007, originally called The Secret Language

of Competitive Intelligence (2006). An excellent book (in English) is Competitive Intelligence

Advantage: How to Minimize Risk, Avoid Surprises, and Grow Your Business in a Changing

World by Seena Sharp (2009).
