Said SultanovSaid Sultanov, graduated from University College London (UCL) with a degree in Economics. He started his working career in Brendan Wood International First Intelligence in Toronto, where he got the experience in analysis of capital markets, financial institution relationships with industrial sectors of Canada. He used his experience and knowledge as the Regional Director of “Stans Energy Corp” Canadian junior mining company. He participated in transaction of initial public offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX-V). Among other things, while in Canada, Said was the Executive Producer of a full feature - film called “Burning Daylight” based on story by Jack London.

Later as the Deputy Head of “Kazgeoinform”, Kazakhstan’s geological information department of the Committee of Geology and Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, he was the project initiator and manager of GIS system “imap.geology.gov.kz”. Besides that, he was the initial speaker and project manager for the adaptation of international reporting standards for mineral reserves according to CRIRSCO. The past two years have been spent as General Director of «KazGeotech» joint project of state-owned exploration company “Kazgeology” and “Geotech Ltd” Canadian airborne geophysical survey. KazGeotech imported Cessna 208b Caravan aircraft into Kazakhstan and performed more than 50 000 line km of fixed wing aircraft airborne surveys and more than 5500 line km of Electromagnetic helicopter surveys. KazGeotech conducted airborne surveys in Kazakhstan for clients which included “Korgantas” (Rio Tinto), Iluka Exploration Kazakhstan, Kazzinc, Kazgeology, Committee of geology and subsoil use of Ministry of Investment and Development.Said’s extensive Kazakhstan contact network within private and public sectors combined with international practice and experience enables Aurora Minerals Group to develop successfully.

The initial research into the application of radar technology for the mining industry started as a PhD project in 1993 at the University of Queensland. In 1997, the Australian Coal Association Research Program provided funding to the University of Queensland to focus the development and application of the university’s radar technology to measure the movement of walls in open pit mines. The objective of the early GroundProbe work was to develop a product that could achieve seven key objectives for measuring slope stability that were not available in existing measurement systems. These were:

1. Monitoring coverage that was sufficiently broad and uniform to determine the slope failure mechanism2. Deformation measurement precision that was at least 10 mm, preferably 1 mm3. Operation that was reliable in a dusty and smoke filled mining environment – something that laser solutions could not accomplish4. Data that could be easily interpreted by mining personnel5. System that was safe to use around mining personnel6. System that did not hinder the mining process and had low false alarm rates7. System that could function economically with simple installation and had running costs.

The Slope Stability Radar was commercialised in 2001 and the business has since expanded to become the global leader in the provision of slope stability radar solutions with over 200 radars deployed across 25 countries supported by in-country presence in 12 countries

MoHo s.r.l. is the Italian company that, from 2016, continues the Micromed s.p.a. activity in the fields of Geophysics and Civil Engineering, worldwide.

MoHo s.r.l. designs and produces TROMINO®. TROMINO®, born in 2002 from an international patent, made single station passive seismics and H/V techniques popular in Italy and beyond. The original project of TROMINO® has evolved with years to allow also passive modal analyses of structures, vibration monitoring, surface wave based active seismic prospection and much more.

SoilSpy, the second instrument of the geophysical series (2007), marked a quantum leap in the multichannel seismic surveys, making the acquisition and pre-processing a fast and easy task everywhere. With Electra (2008) the geoelectrical prospection paves equally new roads.

In parallel with the instruments for geophysical prospection, MoHo s.r.l. presently develops also devices for permanent monitoring of structures, for the uses of Civil Engineering and civil protection.

MoHo s.r.l. conceives, designs and manufactures both the hardware and the software of its instruments in full autonomy. Research, development, production, calibration and testing are made at the headquarter in Venice (Italy).

TROMINO® is the first ‘all-in-one’ instrument for passive and active seismic surveys and vibration monitoring. Its small dimension (1 dm3, < 1 kg) and unique user-friendliness make single station seismic prospection a sheer entertainment.

Powered by 2 AA batteries, TROMINO® can record for several days. In association with Tromino® Manager, it can record with no time limits.

An exclusive system of radio communication among different units allows you to work in synthetic array configuration both in the free-field (for spatial correlation studies) and on structures (for passive and active modal analyses).

12 channels (velocimeters with different sensitivity, accelerometers, GPS, radio, triggers) make TROMINO® versatile and suitable for many engineering and seismological applications
