WHAT IS ROBOTICS?
Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback and information processing.
These technologies deal with automated machines that can take the place of humans in dangerous environments or manufacturing processes, or resemble humans in appearance, behaviour, and/or cognition.
HISTORY
Elektro(1939)Westinghouse Electric Corporation
Electro is the nickname of a robot built by the Westinghouse Electric corporationbetween 1937-1939. it could be walk by voice command, speak about 700words,smoke cigarettes and move his head and arms. Elektro’s body consisted of a steelgear, cam and motor skeleton covered by an aluminum skin.
ELECTRIC DRIVES The electric drive
systems are capable of moving robots with high power or speed.
• This types of robotics operation can be done by either DC servo motors or DC stepping motors.
• The electric drive system will be perfect for small robots and precise applications. Most importantly, it has got greater accuracy and repeatability
DC SERVO MOTOR
A servomotor is a rotary device that allows for precise control of angular position, velocity and acceleration.
It consists of a motor coupled to a sensor for position feedback.

DC STEPPER MOTOR
A stepper motor is a brushless DC electric motor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps.
The motor's position can then be commanded to move and hold at one of these steps without any feedback sensor.
It is an open-loop controller.

POWER REQUIREMENT
In general these type of electric drives require 12V or 24V for its operation
We can convert the 220V,50Hz ac into dc by the help of rectifier
The speed of these drive can be control by PWM control
IC 7805 use for conversion of voltage range 9-38v to 5v for electronic equipment.
MICRO CONTROLLER ATMEGA 32
An integrated circuit, or IC, is small chip that can function as an amplifier, oscillator, timer, microprocessor or even computer memory.
It is build from semiconductor materials, normally Silicon.
In present scenario an IC contain 1billions of transistor.

SENSORS
A mechanical device sensitive to light, temperature, radiation level etc, that transmits a signal to a measuring or control instrument.

CONCLUSION
The robots are an amazing technological advancement
This will allow people save their time and precise life in a more productive manner
The robots provide a number of positive contributions to human beings
The degree of accuracy is very high
