Aims and objectives of APMA

The target of APMA (NGO) is to establish society of professionals working in the field of Project Management. APMA's mission statement is: "To develop and promote the professional disciplines of project management for the public benefit".

APMA strategy

Knowledge: Becoming the recognised source for the development and dissemination of knowledge for project management.

Professional Development: Developing and maintaining an internationally recognised structure of qualifications relevant to cross-sector practice.

Membership: Attracting and retaining members through a growing range of value-for-money services and products.

International: Promoting and protecting the interests and standards of APMA and its members at home and abroad.

Governance & Administration: Providing an efficient, cost-effective, transparent core for APMA to deliver the plans, services and products to members, potential members and society as a whole.

Code of Conducts: Create Armenian Project Managers code of conducts to implement it in member’s organizations. Additionally, APMA will protect any member in case if any company will violate professional code of conduct accepted by APMA member.

Project Description

The aim of the project is to support and develop IT and Tourism Industries with establishing, development and promoting Armenian Project Management association in Armenia. It will help to develop required knowledge and skills for more successful projects in IT, Tourism, Construction Other industries.

Project Objectives

1. Establishing the Armenian Project Management Association. This has been done on first level of official registration and validation.

2. Creating background for organization by creating all required documentation, materials and body of knowledge for Armenian project managers.

3. Establishing recognition of Armenian Project Management Association on International level by registering for membership into International Project Management Association and signing alliance with PMI and APM UK.

4. Developing high quality services and products using experience and knowledge of APMA founders involving them as volunteers.

Project Objectives

5. Establishing special Project Management trainings for members of IT and Tourism non-governmental organizations.

6. Providing special short term consulting for mentioned industries companies to establish high level Project Management practice in Industry.

7. Developing high level customer care and support by developing web-site and special materials. This will include publishing on-line magazine which will be disseminated to members.

8. Publishing official publication of Armenian Project Management Body of Knowledge for project managers edited by founders of APMA.

Project Strategy

Knowledge transfer: We are based on international experience and body of knowledge of most developed project management institutes and associations.

Knowledge base: All materials and documents, including main Body of Knowledge will be developed by founders of organization presented in this document and with CV’s attached to this document.

Start-up development: We are requesting funding and support of some organization which is supporting professional association and developing services and required materials for organizational normal work.

Member registration: We are starting to register members on three levels to get organization on self sustainable level. The membership levels of Armenian Project Management Association will be as following: Companies Individuals Students

Service level: We are going to develop high level services based on experience of our founders and develop high level customer care for better communication with members and high level satisfaction of members needs.

Democratic management: We are establishing liberal organization where all bodies will be selective, including President of organization which will be selected for 1 year by yearly members meeting. All decisions will be made by governance body which will be also selective.

Web presence: We underscore importance of web presence and we are going to develop not only presentational environment but also high level web collaboration tool for our members. All main collaboration and communication will be executed through the web-site. Additionally we are planning to distribute some important documents and book through eLibrary which will be included on members’ protected area of web-site.

Promotion and advertising: To promote organization and services/products we are ready to prepare some promotional materials and disseminate it as in traditional offline method but also online, wish targeted text/graphic advertisements on target web sites.

Code of ethics: All members of APMA will agreed with one main document which is code of ethics or Code of Conduct for Project Managers. This document will include all main responsibilities of project managers and his/her rights to organization/company. All rights of APMA members will be seconded by us and in case of conflicts we will protect rights of our members using all available tools on socio-political level.

Office staff: We are planning to keep one general Manager of organization and one secretary, who will be responsible for all operations and customer support. Additionally we will hire professional accountant to prepare all reports and documentation for high level financial transparency. In the future we will involve more staff as much as organization will be more sustainable.

outcome of proposed project Certification: Each member will be able to get professional

certification, which will help him/her in career development and successful project management in member companies.

Trainings: We will have two level trainings provided to our target customers. First level is corporate trainings which could fulfil corporate demand on this level and individual trainings which will help knowledge and skills development on project management level.

Consulting: We are going to provide consulting to any company with complicated or conflict current projects. Consulting will be free for short term projects to supported IT and Tourism sectors.

Library: All knowledge and information required for successful professional development of members will be provided within Armenian Project Management Association.
