Prepare a good looking stall, add some sweets & treatsand position a smiling promoter to welcome walkers.Visitors attract visitors: if you want a crowd, you will needto start with a few visitors.

To get business, you need customers.To get customers, you need prospects.To get prospects, you need visitors.

You might be tempted to show all your products and addlots of stock « just in case ». Don’t.

Leave some empty space on your booth. You want your visitors to easily walk around.

Make sure at least one person welcomes your

visitors and direct them to their product of interest.

Don’t underestimate how exhausting an event can be.

Standing, smiling, repeating the same speech again and again, all day. You and your team will need to drink a lot to stay afloat.

Food and beverages on trade shows are usually very expensive. Plan ahead to save money!

An exhibition is an important yet unusual event.

A week ahead of time, train your team. Give special care to your part-time promoters: show them your products, tell them about your company, immerge them in your culture.

You cannot afford having low-quality ambassadors!

When fairs last three to five days, it can become very difficult to stay focused and smiling all the time.

Refrain from looking at your watch or smartphone all the time and allow yourself a short break with snacks & water regularly.

Go for a walk when your legs hurt, don’t sit down, it would make it even harder after.

Don’t starve yourself but don’t get too full either.Motivation and energy start with the right diet.

Make sure you have arketing kits containing brochures, catalogues, flyers, business cards, samples, etc.

Remember: your visitors will visit lots of other booths on that day: they don’t want to carry anything. Keep it simple and light and provide a bag for them to transport your things.

Try to add a small promotional gift!

You might also get media to visit your booth: be ready and have a PR Kit containing all your company & product details & demonstrations ready.

Prepare some cleaning equiment: broom, cleaning spray, tissue…

Every day, after visitors left the the convention center, do a quick cleaning on your booth and re-arrange your products on the shelves.

You will want to have your stall always at its best for the exhibition visitors!

Prepare a list of the most frequent questions visitors might ask you and update it each evening with new questions of the day.

Have a daily debrief session with your team after the visitors have left and make sure they all know the standard answer to these questions.

The only way to get leads and convert them to customers is to take efficient notes.
