Toyota Etios Cross Price in India

The most popular cars in the Indian automobile market are the small cars like hatchbacks, crossovers and the compact sedans. The last two years saw a number of crossovers being launched in India and many of them like the Ford EcoSport and the Volkswagen Cross Polo became popular immediately. The Japanese auto giant is a late entrant in this segment. The Toyota Kirloskar Motors has launched the sedan Etios in 2010 and the hatchback Liva in 2011. The Crossover Etios Cross showcased during the 2014 India auto expo has been launched on 7th May 2014.

The 2 petrol and 2 diesel manual transmission variants of the Toyota Etios Cross are priced Rupees 6.23 to 7.72 lakh. The petrol variants come with 2 different engines. The Cross 1.2G will be the base variant and the Cross 1.5V will be the top variant. For the diesel 1.4 GD will be the base and the Cross 1.4VD will be the top variant. The stylish body of the Cross is available in attractive colours of ultramarine blue, celestial black, classic grey, vermilion red, symphony silver, harmony beige, white and inferno orange.

The Cross is built on the Liva platform with more SUV like features like a silver bull bar and the skid plate along with the black bumper at the front. The exterior features include an aggressive grille, extended headlamp clusters with halogen lamps, large fog lamps on the front bumper, black cladding on all the three sides with silver skirting, a rear spoiler, 55 kg capacity roof rails and the carving of the name on the claddings.

The Etios Cross has a stylish and comfortable cabin. The standard features include an engine immobiliser, central and child lock facilities, a manual AC, power windows, internally operated body coloured ORVMs with blinkers and a 2 Din music system. Top variants have 2 air bags, ABS, EBD and Bluetooth connectivity for telephony additionally.

The diesel variants of the Cross are powered by 1364 cc, 67 bhp, and 170 NM torque engines with fuel efficiencies of 23.59 kmpl. Petrol variants have a1197 cc volume, 79 bhp and 173 NM

torque engine giving a mileage of 17.71 kmpl or a 1496 cc, 89 bhp engine with a mileage of 16.78 kmpl.

The 3895 mm long Etios Cross has a wheel base of 2460 mm and a ground clearance of 174 mm. The suspensions are McPherson strut at the front and Torsion beam at the rear.

The Etios Cross is a compact utility vehicle which can be used for city travel and also for long tours along different types of roads. The competition comes from the likes of the Volkswagen Cross Polo, the Maruti Swift and the Honda Brio.
