Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles Tata Prima 4032.S LNG Tata Motors showcased the Tata Prima 4032.S LNG (Liquefied natural gas), yet another environment-friendly commercial vehicle at the Auto Expo 2014. The Tata Prima 4032.S LNG’s green fuel is a first for the Indian market – with an alternative to diesel and CNG power, providing benefits of lower carbon emissions and better fuel economy. Tata Prima 4032.S LNG offers lower operating costs to operators while also significantly lowering emissions. Best suited for those who drive long leads, the Prima 4032.S LNG is fitted with an electronically-controlled Cummins ISLG 320 hp LNG engine, which delivers superior driveability, owing to a flat torque curve. To ensure safety, the LNG tank of the vehicle is extremely strong and can withstand a collision, with LNG being stored at low pressures of around 150 psi as compared to CNG cylinders at around 3600psi.

Tata Prima CX 1618.T (Prima B Cab) Tata Motors showcased for the first time, a new medium commercial vehicle (MCV), the all-new Tata Prima CX1618.T, with the world-class Prima cabin. The cabin has been designed keeping in mind driver comfort and suitability to Indian conditions, at the same time ensuring lowest total cost of ownership and operation. This combination offers good fuel efficiency along with contemporary looks and design, a first for an MCV truck. The Tata Prima CX 1618.T is fitted with an electronically controlled common rail engine with 180 HP for best-in-class fuel economy and driveability, owing to its flat torque curve, unique to the 16 tonne category. The Tata Prima CX 1618.T comes equipped with power steering and a pneumatically assisted tiltable and telescopically adjustable steering column for further enhanced driver comfort and enabling fatigueless driving. The vehicle’s anti-theft fuel system on the fuel tank neck, acts as a deterrent to thieves, while also preventing expensive misfuelling mistakes. Also, to facilitate easy loading and unloading of goods, and to save on time and effort, the Tata Prima CX 1618.T features a 24 feet half-deck load body with drop-side arrangement.
