•Australia currently supplying 56% of Chinese meat imports. •Traditional large beef exporting nations of Brazil, USA and Paraguay are restricted – hence reliance on AU and NZ product. •Proximity to market – Quality of product, renown globally as free from FMD (Foot and Mouth Disease) and hormone injections •Rising incomes, dietary shifts, limited local production and tight import restrictions – import demand expected to remain strong

Today, Australian growers export nearly 2.3 million tonnes of wheat in containers each year, or about 11% of the total export volume, up from only 500,000 tonnes before deregulation of the market in 2008.
