Mercedes-AMG GT: Beast Unleashed

So,finally mercedes has revealed its AMG GT. Entirly developed by AMG,Car comes with a powerful roaring V8 engine. The new AMG GT isconsidered as a replacement for SLS AMG. But, engine of the new AMGGT is turbocharged. There are two turbos which are placed inside the 4litre V8's cylinder banks. Marcedes named this approach as “hot inside V”.AMG-GT ia launched with two variants, AMG-GT, which is 456 bhp andthe AMG-GT S which is 503 bhp. Where GT S can reach 0-62 mph in 3.8seconds, AMG GT can do this in two-tenths behind that. There is no doubtthat this giant from AMG-mercedes with its stunning design and the brandnew turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, is going to be a benchmark in mercedes'range. One thing to notice here about AMG GT is that it is not going toreplace SLS directly instead the focus here is to take on the rivalries likeporsche 911 and jaguar F-type R.

Mercedes AMG GT price & release date

Car is going to be unveiled officially at Paris Motor Show in early october.However, AMG GT will be available for purchase at the start of 2015 withestimated price of £110,000 for AMG GT and £120,000 for the GT S.

Mercedes AMG GT: technology

The new AMG GT is based around the same kind of aluminiumspaceframe chassis as the SLS- albeit with 50mm cut out of the wheelbase.As a result the GT S weighs 1,645kg, which is 25kg less than the 911Turbo and 5kg less than the F-Type R Coupe.

If we talk about the looks of the car, then somewhere down the line, thenew AMG GT looks like Jaguar's F-Type. The long bonnet, low glasshouseand powerful rear haunches are all SLS-inspired. There are a number ofcustom options available for the buyers. You can customise your GT with aChrome package, a Night pack and carbon fibre exterior parts.

Interior of AMG GT is the signature one from AMG, with two rows ofbuttons flanking the gear selector and a new touchpad borrowed from thenew C-Class. One thing that is mentionable here is that AMG GT has nobackseats but a 350-litre boot.

The new AMG GT comes with double wishbone suspension and a lockingdifferential. GT S comes with adaptive dampers, which can be switchedthrough Comfort, sport and Sport Plus using the AMG Dynamic Selectsystem.
