How to Use the Kelley Blue Book

Navigate to the Kelley Blue Book website, located at https://www.kbb.com

1. Let’s jump right in! To quickly look up a vehicle’s value, click the green button labeled, ‘Price New/Used Cars’.

2. The screen will repaint.Now, do you have a certain vehicle in mind?
- Not really. (Maybe you’re not sure or you want to compare similar new vehicles.)
Then browse by
clicking one of the tabs:
A. CategoryB. MakeC. Best Sellers (Sponsored)
- Yep! Then specify it now by selecting from three drop-down
menus, in order from left to right:a. Click the first drop-down to select either ‘Certified Pre-Owned’
or ‘Used’. Leave alone to keep the default choice, ‘New’. b. Select the vehicle’s make (e.g. Mazda) at the second drop-
down. c. Select the vehicle’s model (e.g. CX-5) at the third. d. Click the button labeled ‘Next’.

… then skip ahead to Slide #8.
3. If you selected a specific vehicle, choose your vehicle’s style (e.g. sedan or hatchback, then series, e.g. SE Sedan 4D).
Note: Clicking one of the plus signs will expand that series, displaying the following particulars:-engine(s)-drivetrain(s)-mpg-horsepower

4. On the next screen, you may:

a. input a mileage (or let it default to “Typical mileage for this vehicle”)
b. add features from the following categories:
1. Powertrain2. Packages3. Options4. Color
c. select the “Price without added options” tab to bypass this step.
Then click the orange ‘Choose price type’ button. Or…
5. Now you can choose the type of seller:a. a dealer (the
default option)b. a Certified Pre-
Owned (CPO) from a dealer
c. a private party
Then click the orange ‘Get used car price’ button.
