Old and used batteries are
a valuable of source of
metal that can be used for
providing raw materials.
There are a number of
batteries that can be
easily recycled. Sealed
lead batteries are one of
them.
Recycling of lead
batteries require proper
handling and that too
with utmost care and
professionalism.
Automobile industry
recycles lead batteries
regularly and properly
with expertise and
handling.
When starting the
recycling process of
lead batteries, first
flammable material is
taken of the battery.
Many ways have been
developed to undertake
these processes, but the
one which is considered
the best among other
ways is to crush these
batteries first.
After crushing the
batteries, a process is
run in order to separate
the contents, the
process are known as
“Hydro Separation”.
As these batteries are
done with crushing, it
generates 4 portions,
namely
•Lead grids
•Separators
•Lead paste
•PP
The material that gives
out lead is the lead Grid.
The lead is extracted
through lead grids by
melting them down and
melting the lead grids to
extract lead gives out
the desired substance
which is very much
refined.
Lead paste also gives
out the lead as it is
heated in the furnaces
at high temperatures
