Prius v AdvantagesA Closer Look

Pitch and Bounce controlPrius v introduces Pitch and Bounce Control. This revolutionary technology uses torque from the electric motor to make lightning-fast adjustments to the drive force, helping to suppress pitch and bounce for greater ride comfort.

Pre-collision systemPrius v offers a set of technologies that help warn the driver of a possible collision. The system integrates radar, braking, seatbelt and audible alarm responses to enhance the driver’s reaction to an emergency maneuver.

Dynamic radar cruise control (Drcc)CR-V has a conventional cruise control, but Prius v offers DRCC, which helps maintain a following distance to the vehicle traveling ahead even if that vehicle changes speed. This makes cruise control useful over a wider range of conditions.

 EFFICIENCY THROUGH ENGINEERING

Impressive fuel economyCR-V’s conventional powertrain does churn out more horsepower and torque than Prius v’s hybrid drivetrain. But that comes at the cost of fuel efficiency. And that’s before factoring in Prius v’s lower curb weight. In fact, Prius v delivers the highest combined fuel efficiency of any SUV, crossover utility vehicle or wagon3, while achieving a Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV) rating. Bottom line: Prius v will likely burn less gasoline and, thus, consume fewer dollars than CR-V.

LED headlamps and taillampsLED lights can last a lot longer than filament bulbs, and they consume a lot less power. Prius v has LED taillamps standard and LED headlamps available. CR-V has neither.

Prius v CR-V

Navigation and EntunePrius v Three and Five come standard with navigation and Entune, including popular mobile apps and services. Honda offers a navigation system on top-level EX-L grades but nothing comparable to Entune.

available SofTex™-trimmed seatingPrius v introduces SofTex, a synthetic material with the look and feel of buttery leather. The seats can be easily wiped and cleaned after outdoor activities, yet are luxurious enough for a night on the town. Also, SofTex material weighs approximately half as much as genuine leather and its manufacturing process generates approximately 99 percent fewer volatile compound organic compounds than that of conventional synthetic leather. SofTex is a Toyota exclusive.

available large resin panoramic view roofThis feature, also a Toyota exclusive, offers a larger roof window than CR-V’s conventional power glass moonroof (standard on EX, EX-L and EX-L with Navigation only). And resin weighs less than glass.

Single-dial automatic climate controlA complex or button-laden climate-control system can be a cause of driver distraction. Toyota came up with the ingenious solution of a single dial to intuitively control most climate functions. CR-V has nothing like it.
