Swing (Dance) –Photography

Here I wanted to look into swing and the culture that surrounds it. This being due to the fact that it is a dance that originated around the 1920’s – 1940’s. It is originally African American and you would usually dance to jazz music. I therefore think it would be interesting to photograph how it has adapted to fit our culture. The next thing that I am interested in is looking at swing and the social implications it has on people that do it, how it makes others gather together and how some people practice it as a part of their lives.

When photographing the modern styles of swing dance I would like to Photoshop them together, possibly with older photos or by simply making them look classic. Upon doing this I would like to separate parts of the images so some of it looks modern and other parts classic.
