The mentioned books can be found in the National and University Library. The library is located in Ljubljana, the capital of Ljubljana.

Church of St. Michael, finished in 1940, represents the most original work of Jože Plečnik. The building is an interwinement of karstic church with some elements of a Greek Temple.

The Triple Bridge. Located in the center of Ljubljana the Triple Bridge represents an unique architectural feature of Ljubljana. The central bridge was build on the basis of ancient wooden bridge that used to link lands of West-Central Europe with the Balkans. In 1932 Plečnik added two additional smaller bridges for pedestrians, giving the bridge its unique form.

Josef ResselPerhaps the most significant contribution of Slovenia to science is a propeller designed and patented in Slovenia by an engineer Josef Ressel.

Nowdays the flag bearers of Slovenia engineering are Akrapovič and Pipistrel. The first specializes in the production of top-quality exhaust systems for motorcycles and other sport wehicles, whereas the latter is a light aircraft manufacturer.

Neue Slowenische Kunst is a controversial political art collective that announced itself in Slovenia in 1984, when Slovenia was still part of Yugoslavia. NSK's best-known member is the musical group Laibach. Other NSK member groups include IRWIN (visual art), Scipion Nasice Sisters Theatre, New Collective Studio (graphics), Retrovision (film and video), and the Department of Pure and Applied Philosophy (theory). Membership has been open to all artistic groups interested in challenging taboos and challenging the norms of Slovene national identity.

Since 1991, NSK claims to constitute the state, a some kind of a micro nation. They issue passports, have presented shows of their work in the guise of an embassy or even as a territory, and maintain consulates in several cities. NSK have also introduced postage stamps and adopted their own anthem.

The paintings are work of France Mihelič - Slovene artist and one of the key figures in Slovene painting in the second half of the 20th century, known for his surrealist figurative paintings and prints.

Lara Bohinc is a Slovenian-born fashion designer. She is primarily a jeweler who uses her training in industrial design to make conceptual, eclectic, ambitious pieces as well as leather accessories, sunglasses and handbags with an art deco twist. Close relation with mountains has produced many outstanding Slovenian alpinists. The most famous are Tomaž Humar, an alpinist who was the first to climb the highest mountain wall of Daulagiri, and Davorin Karničar, an extreme alpine skier who was the first to ski Mount Everest.

17.02.2010, Canada, Vancouver, Petra Majdič secured herself a bronze medal in cross country skiing sprint after fracturing five of her ribs.

Slovenia has had a lot of excellent alpine skiers throughout its history, but Tina Maze has to be one of the best. She has won 2 Olympic medals and she is currently leading in women rankings (season 2011/2012).

Although a great majority of Slovenian youth practice either football or basketball my favorite team sport is handball. The picture above depicts a celebration that took place in Flensburg after Slovenian handball team Celje Pivovarna Laško won its first Champion League title (2004).
