The Camera

The camera, as I’m sure you already know, is used to capture the images and memories that we want to remember forever. Its an invention that has helped that most people in the United States own. Whether it is on your phone, or you have actually bought a camera, most Americans have some way of capturing pictures thanks to technology.

The First CameraThe first camera ever made was in 1816, but

it wasn’t very successful. It was basically a wooden box with a light that would help darken a piece of paper coated with silver chloride

The First Innovation

In 1839 a new camera was made with an actual lens and modified the silver chloride coated paper to iodine and mercury vapor to capture a picture.

KodakIn 1888, The first Kodak camera was made.

It came with the ability to shoot 100 photos before it had to be sent back to the factory to be reloaded with film. It was cheap and affordable for the general public.

35mmAround 1925, a portable camera came out.

The 35mm dominated the camera industry and sparked other companies to start making cameras too

In the early 80’s electronic hand held cameras were coming out.

The Digital Camera Today

After that, technology began to advance and the digital camera became smaller, clearer, and stronger with every new generation.
