What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
Evaluation question 3
Focus Group
I Created a Facebook group for my focus group so I was able to communicate easily with them.
They were all of the demographic of my target audience therefore they were suitable to consult.
I first used my focus group when I needed help deciding which layout to use for my 3rd and 4th page.
They gave their feedback thus allowing me to decide which structure to use in my final production.
Their feedbackshowed me thepreferences of my targetAudience and allowed me to accommod-ate those preferences. The only issue was that not all the members of my focus group responded however those who did agreed unanimously.
To decide which images to use on my front cover I once again asked my focus group for their opinions which they gave.I took most of the advice given but when put on the cover one of the images (image 3) was too dark compared to the rest so I swapped it for image 9 which had the second highest vote behind image 3.Although I did not use all of my focus group’s suggestions, their contribution definitely shaped my final production and influenced my decisions.
When making my billboard I enlisted the help on my focus group as I could not decide which colour to use.
I posted the question onto the facebook group I created but only two people commented with their opinions, therefore their responses may not be completely representative however I took their advice and chose the option they suggested.
Through posting this, one of my focus group members responded with more advice than expected and expressed their opinion on the images used. This led to a change of the final billboard by removing the coloured images on the front cover.
My focus group and target audience influenced my production greatly throughout the entire process. Without their contribution certain decisions would have proved very difficult.
