The Past President, Rajendra K. Saboo (Rotary Roger), has been

leading medical missions to Africa for more than 15 years, and I am

sure he’ll return to Kigali.

You see, today he visited the new public library in Kigali, built

through the vision of the very first President of the Rotary Club of

Kigali-Virunga ten years ago.

The Rotarians were excited that the building got the attention of

the Rotary Roger, Past President of Rotary International .

Rotary Roger gave a very moving presentation about how he responds to the press when they ask how much the mission

“costs”.

He said he responds with a question of his own: How do you value the time of the Rotarians who are donating their time to stand on their feet from 7 AM until 9 PM working on patients who will not receive care any other way?

How do you value the time of all of the Rotarians who helped plan the trip?

How do you value the time of all of the Rotary volunteers who met their plane at the airport, who took them to the hotel, who have taken them wherever they wanted to go?

Rtn. Rajendra K. SabooPast Rotary International President

We are a part of one large family living

on this planet earth. Reaching out to our

brethren in Rwanda is the recognition of

this reality of our existence ….

I am excited to be part of this mission.
